Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a new generation of artificial intelligence development planning and major scientific and technological projects launch meeting, announced the first batch of new generation of artificial intelligence open innovation platform. Baidu, Aliyun, Tencent and HKUST will carry out construction innovations in areas such as autopilot, urban brain, medical imaging and intelligent voice. This indicates that the new generation of artificial intelligence development planning and major scientific and technological projects have entered the stage of full implementation.

The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to promote the deep integration of the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and real economy. In July this year, the State Council issued the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan", which clearly set out the three-step strategic objectives for the development of artificial intelligence in China. One of the steps is to achieve the overall technology and application in line with the world's advanced level by 2020, and the artificial intelligence industry has become a new important economic growth point. Technology application has become a new way to improve people's livelihood. This goal not only echoes the well-off society in 2020, but also is one of the important driving forces to deepen the structural reform on the supply side and push China into the forefront of innovation.

The new generation of artificial intelligence technology, mainly driven by commercial needs, especially the demand for the Internet, penetrates the traditional industry in an unprecedented depth and breadth, but also faces the problem of extensive integration with industrial development. For traditional industries, this is also a major opportunity to promote industrial upgrading, through the in-depth application of a new generation of artificial intelligence, to cultivate new growth points, the formation of new momentum. China's Internet industry is in the forefront of the world, the Internet as a "transmission machine" can be applied to various specific industries artificial intelligence, for the efficiency of traditional industries to lay the foundation. For example, the development of cross-media perceptual computing technology will provide intelligent applications such as face recognition for a series of industries with security needs, such as parking lots, banks, schools, warehousing and logistics. As the "power engine" of building a modern economic system, artificial intelligence will provide a new perspective for the reform of various industries, especially the real economy.

For the traditional industry, it is necessary to change the concept and look for the application scenarios of artificial intelligence technology more actively, instead of unilaterally promoting technology to enterprises by scientific research institutions; through active application of artificial intelligence technology, the industrial value chain linked by technology is constructed. For example, the highway transportation industry can actively seek intelligent matching of cargo sources and route planning through artificial intelligence technology to reduce the empty rate of vehicles. At the same time, in the application of AI industry jointly dominated by the government, scientific research institutions and platform enterprises, we should take the initiative to use market means to balance the relationship between social interests and enterprise benefits, and prevent platform enterprises from monopolizing by using technological advantages. According to the development plan, the new generation of artificial intelligence will be integrated and innovated in six key industries, such as manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, finance, business, home and so on. In fact, the deep integration of artificial intelligence and traditional industries is far more than these six industries, energy, tourism, medical and other fields have a broad space for innovation. While looking at opportunities, we should also pay attention to the new challenges faced by integration and innovation. For example, for traditional enterprises, independent development and application of large investment and risk of failure; platform-based artificial intelligence and Internet enterprises will use technological advantages to monopolize; artificial intelligence in the concept, policy, legal support needs to be strengthened, and so on. In view of this, the future development of the integration of artificial intelligence and traditional industries, but also relying on all kinds of platform-based enterprises as a leader in application construction, using its technology, data resources and other advantages, accelerate the landing of artificial intelligence technology in traditional industries.

In addition, the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence, but also the need for social concepts in the policy, ethical, legal application of artificial intelligence to lay the groundwork. At present, in medical diagnosis, unmanned driving, education and other fields, are facing the problem of artificial intelligence technology practice prior to the status quo of law and policy. Some traditional industries, such as taxi and retail industries, may also undergo disruptive changes due to the deep application of artificial intelligence. These problems need to be planned in advance, so as to better promote the healthy development of the new generation of artificial intelligence.
